Princess Diana Conspiracies
Are the injuries from her car crash what actually killed Princess Diana? The married beautiful blonde hair, blue-eyed ‘Barbie’ reached the age of 36 before her death. We are going to look at three conspiracies that surround her:
-
Was the car crash really an accident or was it not?
-
Was the car led into the tunnel for her to die on purpose?
-
The driver of Princess Diana’s car, was he really drunk, or was that just a cover-up?
Let’s talk about some of the reasons people believe Miss Diana passed away. Come along as we find out what actually happened when she died. Maybe her death is just as simple as her driver being drunk and they crashed in a tunnel like we were all told ?
When you think of Princess Diana, what about her comes to mind? Her beauty, sense of style, and the way she cared about the world come to mind. Diana was born on July 1, 1961, and died on August 31, 1997. This means she was only 36 years old when she was a part of a life-ending car accident. She was 5’10 and had beautiful blond hair and stunning blue eyes, which she was known for. Princess Diana also had a pretty light complexion; her skin was fair.
Princess Diana was described as beautiful with and without makeup on, but she loved makeup. The blonde always wanted to look good no matter what the occasion was and thanks to friend and legendary British makeup artist, Mary Greenwell, she always did (1). Mary Greenwell, who has worked with a wide variety of people, said that “she wore makeup extremely well and I loved enhancing her beauty” (Nast 1). Princess Diana was extremely photogenic. Her makeup artists didn’t have to worry about how she would look in pictures or if the pictures that were taken of her were terrible. Her makeup artists stated, “I always knew she would look amazing in pictures.”(Nast 1) and she did. Her skin was always flawless and as a whole, she looked elegant. She loved beauty and treated herself very well, without being snotty about it. She knew that she was a gorgeous lady because she was self-aware, but by looking after herself and the people around her (1).
Princess Diana is known for her unique sense of style. Some refer to it as colorful and daring. Let's talk about some of the more unforgettable outfits she wore. First, we’ll look at her wedding gown. In 1981 she got married to Prince Charles and her wedding dress was a head-turner. Princess Diana’s gown was giant and fluffy with puffy sleeves, but the reason this dress is so shocking is that her train was twenty-five feet long, the longest in royal-wedding history (1). She did not always wear elegant gowns but that didn’t mean her casual style was any less amazing. In July 1981, she wore pastel yellow overalls, a colorful floral blouse underneath it, and paired it with red wedges. Finally, we will finish this off with her Revenge Dress. It is an off-the-shoulder black velvet, tight, and mid-thigh dress. Paired with black pantyhose and black heels (1). This was shocking because no other royal had worn something like that. Kerry Taylor said “We call it the “revenge dress” [because] she wore it the same evening Prince Charles confessed to his adultery with Camilla”.
One more thing we admire Princess Diana for is the way she cared for and about the world. She was President or Patron of over 100 charities. As a part of her royal duties, she worked with disabled people, the homeless, and people with STDs, HIV, and AIDS. Princess Diana made trips all over the world to help with schools and charities (1). Everyone who met her was touched by the love she gave and how much she cared for them. Princess Diana said “I make the trips at least three times a week, and spend up to four hours at a time with patients holding their hands and talking to them. Some of them will live and some will die, but they all need to be loved while here. I try to be there for them.” (Princess Diana Charitable Work 2), That is how she described her work with the Royal Brompton Hospital in London. After her death, the Prime Minister of that time, Tony Blair, referred to her as the People's Princess, and Princess Diana is still known by that name to this day (1). Princess Diana was selfless and loved being part of her community and helping people without wanting anything in return.
There are three common conspiracies about the way Princess Diana died. The first one is determining whether or not the car crash was an accident. The second one is about the possibility that her car was led into the tunnel for her to die on purpose. The third one talks about the driver of her car, was he actually drunk, or was it just a cover-up?
The first conspiracy about if the car crash, was an accident or not, is one that is overlooked and ruled out. Her car lost control in a tunnel and there were too many casualties for reporters and the police to believe that it was planned. The police were more focused on who was driving, and the company the car and driver were from. They didn't seem too worried about the crash being intentional or not. Why the car was in the tunnel in the first place was more focused on as well. This takes us to the two conspiracies that are more talked about.
The second conspiracy is if Princess Diana’s car was led into the tunnel for her to die on purpose. She died on August 31, 1997, around midnight. Dodi Fayed, her boyfriend, Trevor Rees-Jones, their bodyguard, Henri Paul, the driver, and Princess Diana were all in the car together trying to get away from the photographers that hound her every move (Sager 1). “My God, what has happened?” was Princess Diana's last words before she died (Sager 1). If you were trying to get away from someone why would you go into a tunnel where you can be easily followed? Princess Diana had an affair and got pregnant as a result. Some people tend to believe her fiance wanted her to get in the accident because she was unfaithful. Many have ruled that out because it would not make sense that he would be in the car that he wanted her to die in(1). This brings people to believe that there had to be something else behind her death.
The third conspiracy focuses on Henri Paul, the driver of the car, and whether he was under the influence or if that was just a cover-up. Etoile Limousine, the company that provided the car for Princess Diana and the other occupants, stated, “ All I know is that it is legally mine and I want it back—[but] I have no idea where the car is” ( Owner of Car Princess Diana Died in Wants the Vehicle Back). Etoile wanted the car to be put in a museum because experts said that it could be worth $10 million. They, also, thought the royal family would dispose of the vehicle without anyone knowing (Owner of Car Princess Diana Died in Wants the Vehicle Back). Henri Paul, the driver of the car, was allegedly under the influence when the car crashed. The wreck happened in Paris in the Pont de I’Alma tunnel. He was speeding, going about double what the speed limit was. He was about to crash with another oncoming vehicle but he swerved. When he swerved he lost control of the car and crashed into one of the walls of the tunnel. He then proceeds to slam into one of the supporting pillars(Sager 1). Upon the crash, Fayed and Pual were killed on impact. Princess Diana stayed alive until she got to the hospital, where she succumbed to life-ending injuries. The details of the car crash coupled with them leaving an event at midnight all point to Henri Paul being drunk. That is, likely, the real reason for the crash.
“Above all, there was shock. That’s the word people use over and over again when they remember Princess Diana’s Death”, dying by reckless driving is always terrible, especially at such a young age (“Diana’s Death Stunned the World — and Changed the Royals.”) Princess Diana is a woman the world experienced grow-up. Coming to the conclusion that her life was ended by a drunk driver has the most factual evidence. The car crash of August 31, 1997, was caused by the drunken and reckless driving of Henri Paul, that hours later killed Princess Diana.
